A non-refundable deposit of £70 is required when booking parachute training with STFC or purchasing a gift voucher. An administration fee of £70 will be charged if you change the date of your booking with less than seven days notice (except in the case of bad weather or operational issues at the club). Cheques are no longer accepted and payment must be by cash, debit/credit card or bank transfer. The balance due to the STFC can be paid at any time up to and including the day of the booking. Once paid, all monies are non-refundable. The training booked must be regarded as an “all day” event and your check-in time as advised is no indication of the time that you may jump, which may be delayed or rescheduled. If the activity is not able to take place due to weather or operational issues, it will be up to you to return to the club on another occasion(s) to complete your activity. Any vouchers purchased from the club must be redeemed by the quoted expiration date. If you arrive at the club without all necessary documentation, you may forfeit your activity and all monies paid. If you are unsure about the paperwork required, please contact us in advance of your booked date.
You understand that, despite the best training and equipment, parachuting in any form holds an element of risk and may result in serious injury or death. You voluntarily accept all risks inherent in the sport and agree for yourself and your personal representatives to indemnify and hold harmless STFC and their representatives against any claim or claims whether on your own account or from third parties arising out of any accident or incident resulting in any loss or damage including bodily injury or death. If you cannot accept the risks you should not participate.
Parachutists need a reasonably high standard of physical fitness and must not be overweight in relation to their sex, age and height. Please note that the minimum age for parachuting is 16 and the maximum age is 55 for Static Line Course. Anyone under 18 must have the written consent of a parent or guardian. The upper age limit for Tandem Skydivers is 70. Tandem Students – Please read forms Form 115a – Tandem Student Parachutist Medical Information and Declaration and Form 115b – Student Tandem Parachutist Request for Medical Advice. Solo Students 40 and over require the form 114a to be signed by a doctor.
If any of the conditions apply to you or a member of your group, please phone the Club (01948-841111) and we will forward the necessary forms. We must have the completed consent/medical declaration prior to commencing the Static Line Training Course or Tandem Skydive. Please bring it with you on the day as it may get lost in the post. Please study the Club height/weight chart published on our web site as persons who are very unfit or overweight relative to their height will not be accepted for training. The MAXIMUM weight is 14.5 stones (92 kg.) for Static Line Course and 15 stones (95 kg.) for Tandem Skydives. The final decision as to the suitability of any person to jump will be made by the Club Chief Instructor. If you have any queries regarding age and fitness requirements, please contact the club.
